For studios and artists
How much does Bronzly cost?
Bronzly has three public plans. Solo is $19/month for unlimited services and bookings, Google Calendar sync, and sales/deposit reporting. Pro is $49/month for route optimization, rinse reminders, deposits, Tap to Pay, AI CRM automations, and QuickBooks-ready exports. Studio is $99/month for team scheduling, roles, in-app messaging, Shopify inventory, and artist-level reporting.
What is Bronzly's platform fee?
Bronzly charges a tiered platform fee on booking transactions processed through Stripe Connect: 1.99% on Solo, 1.69% on Pro, and 1.49% on Studio. Stripe processing fees are separate and passed through at cost (approximately 2.7%+5¢ in-person or 2.9%+30¢ online) — Bronzly does not mark up Stripe's fees. There are no per-booking commissions, no marketplace tax, no SMS upcharges, and no discovery fees. New studios only; existing studios may be grandfathered at different rates. See bronzly.app/pricing for current details.
How does Bronzly handle payouts?
Payouts run through Stripe Connect on the studio's own connected account. Standard payout schedule is T+2 business days; Pro and Studio plans receive T+1 payouts. Studios manage payout schedules, bank accounts, and 1099-K reporting directly inside their Stripe Express dashboard. Bronzly never holds client funds — money flows directly from the client's card to the studio's Stripe balance, minus Bronzly's platform fee (1.99%–1.49% depending on plan) and Stripe's processing fees.
Does Bronzly compete with Vagaro and Booksy?
Yes — but only in the spray tan vertical. Vagaro and Booksy serve the entire beauty market (hair, nails, lashes, massage, spa). Bronzly is built only for spray tan, which is why it has features no competitor offers: automated rinse-time SMS keyed to solution, per-client tan history CRM with skin-type and contraindication tracking, and solution-aware checkout. Studios primarily doing spray tan switch to Bronzly for these tools.
Can I import my existing client list from another platform?
Yes. Bronzly imports CSV exports from Vagaro, Booksy, GlossGenius, Square Appointments, Mindbody, StyleSeat, and Schedulicity directly. Names, emails, phone numbers, and basic appointment history map automatically. Most artists complete migration in under 30 minutes for lists of 200 clients or fewer. Studios with larger or more complex setups can request guided onboarding from Bronzly's team during signup.
What is Solo?
Solo is Bronzly's $19/month public entry plan for independent spray tan artists. It includes online booking, full client profiles, deposit and cancellation controls, reminders, marketplace listing, and basic revenue analytics. Upgrade to Pro or Studio when you need deeper automation, team controls, inventory, and reporting.
What is the difference between Bronzly's Pro and Studio plans?
Pro ($49/month) is built for booked-out artists that need route optimization, rinse reminders, deposits, Tap to Pay, AI CRM automations, and QuickBooks-ready exports. Studio ($99/month) adds team scheduling, roles, in-app messaging, Shopify inventory, and artist-level reporting.
What does Studio white-label include?
Studio is $99/month and adds team scheduling, roles, in-app messaging, Shopify inventory, and artist-level reporting. Bronzly can support branded booking experiences and custom domains where configured, but the public Studio plan is designed for growing spray tan teams that need multi-artist operations without enterprise implementation overhead.
Does Bronzly include a native mobile app for clients?
Yes — every Bronzly tier (including Solo at $19/month) includes the native iOS and Android client app. Clients receive push notifications for booking confirmations, reminders, and rinse-time alerts. The app is published under the Bronzly brand on Solo/Pro/Studio and can be fully white-labeled (custom icon, splash, name) on Studio.
How do automated rinse reminders work?
At checkout, the artist tags the appointment with the solution applied (rapid 2-hour, classic 8-hour, overnight, or competition). Bronzly schedules an SMS to the client at the correct rinse window — automatically suppressed during configured quiet hours so no 2am texts. The reminder is fully personalized with client first name, solution, and after-care instructions. No competing platform offers this feature natively.
What does the spray tan client CRM track?
Per-client profile fields: solution preference, depth (light/medium/dark/competition), skin type (Fitzpatrick I–VI), contraindications (pregnancy, recent waxing, sunburn, hormonal acne, eczema), prep instructions sent, after-care followed, before/after photos, complete tan history with date/solution/depth/artist, no-show flag, and gratuity. The full profile surfaces at every future booking so artists never re-ask the same intake question.
Can I take card-on-file deposits and charge no-shows automatically?
Yes. Bronzly requires a card on file at client signup with a $10 pre-authorization. Cancellation policies are configurable per studio — common defaults are $50 no-show fee and $20 late-cancel within 24 hours. Five dollars of each fee can be configured to split to the staff member who was scheduled. The auto-charge runs on the no-show flag set in the calendar.
Does Bronzly offer memberships and recurring billing?
Yes, on Pro and Studio plans. Memberships support rollover (unused sessions roll into the next 30-day period, max 60-day expiry), 3-month minimum then month-to-month, and require in-studio sign-off to cancel. Bronzly recommends displaying 3–4 public membership tiers while supporting up to 6+ on the backend for retention and seasonal campaigns.
What is the AI Receptionist?
AI Receptionist is an inbound voice agent included on Pro and Studio plans. It answers calls, books appointments, quotes pricing, answers FAQs, and routes urgent messages. Built on Retell AI voice infrastructure, it picks up calls 24/7 so studios never miss a booking when staff are with clients. Configurable greeting, voice, and call-routing rules.
Does Bronzly handle payroll and timeclock?
Yes, on Pro and Studio plans. Features include clock-in/out, timesheets, commission rules editor (per-service, per-staff, tiered), and exportable payroll reports. Bronzly does not file payroll taxes — most studios export to Gusto, ADP, or QuickBooks Payroll for tax filing. Commission tracking ties directly to the booking ledger so revenue splits are automatic.
How much can a spray tan studio realistically make on Bronzly?
Solo spray tan artists on Solo typically run $35,000–$140,000 in annual revenue depending on city, marketing, and pricing. Multi-staff studios on Pro or Studio commonly run $180,000–$500,000+. The platform fee on $200,000 in annual bookings is $3,980 at Solo (1.99%), or $2,980 at Studio (1.49%) — typically recovered by deposit protection preventing 1–2 no-shows per month at $50 each. Stripe processing fees are additional and passed through at cost.
Do I own my client data?
Yes. Studios fully own their client data. Bronzly provides one-click CSV export of all clients, appointments, and notes from the Settings panel at any time. Cancellation does not lock data — exports remain available for 90 days post-cancellation. Bronzly never resells, shares, or markets to client lists across tenants.
Is there a contract or long-term commitment?
Solo, Pro, and Studio are month-to-month with no contract — cancel anytime, effective at the end of the current billing period.
For clients booking a spray tan
How do I book a spray tan on Bronzly?
Go to your studio's Bronzly booking link — usually [studioname].bronzly.app or a custom domain the studio shares. Pick a service (typically classic, rapid, or competition), choose a time, save a card on file (a $10 pre-authorization is held, not charged), and confirm. You'll get an SMS and email confirmation immediately, plus prep instructions 24 hours before your appointment.
Can I cancel a Bronzly booking?
Yes. Cancellations more than 24 hours before your appointment are free. Within 24 hours, most studios charge a $20 late-cancel fee per their policy. No-shows are typically charged a $50 fee. Exact amounts are set by each studio — they appear on the booking confirmation and at checkout. Cancel from the SMS confirmation link or by calling the studio directly.
How do I leave a review for a Bronzly studio?
After your appointment, Bronzly automatically sends an SMS asking for feedback. One tap takes you to the studio's review page (Google Business Profile or Yelp depending on the studio's setup). If your experience was negative, the prompt routes to private feedback first so the studio can respond directly before a public review is requested.
Are Bronzly studios vetted?
No. Bronzly is software that studios use — it does not certify, license, or verify individual studios. Each business operates as an independent tenant. Before booking, look for Google reviews, certifications (NAHA, Sjolie, Norvell, Aviva, etc.), clear cancellation policies, and recent before/after photos. Bronzly studios with strong public profiles typically have all of these.
What should I do before my first spray tan?
24 hours before: shave or wax. 12 hours before: exfoliate (no scrub or oil left on skin). Day-of: skip moisturizer, deodorant, makeup, and lotion — all create barriers that cause uneven tan. Wear loose dark clothing and flip-flops to your appointment. Your studio will send a full prep checklist via SMS through Bronzly 24 hours before.
When should I rinse after my spray tan?
Bronzly automatically sends you an SMS at the exact rinse window for the solution your artist used — typically 2 hours for rapid, 8 hours for classic, or overnight for competition. Rinse with lukewarm water only, no soap, no scrubbing. The bronzer will wash off (this is normal); the actual tan keeps developing for another 12–24 hours.
How long does a Bronzly-booked spray tan last?
Most professional spray tans last 7–10 days with proper aftercare: daily moisturizer, no exfoliation, short lukewarm showers, no chlorine, no hot tubs, no long baths. Rapid tans typically fade slightly faster (7 days) than classic (8–10 days). Competition tans hold longer with the right oil-based prep but are designed for stage, not week-long wear.
How much does a spray tan cost on Bronzly?
Pricing is set by each studio, not by Bronzly. National averages for 2026: $40–$55 in midwest and southern metros (Phoenix, San Antonio, Memphis), $55–$75 in major cities (Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta), and $75–$100+ in premium markets (New York, San Francisco, Boston). Competition tans typically run $80–$150. Add-ons like rapid solution or contour usually add $10–$25.
Can I book a spray tan party or group event?
Yes — many Bronzly studios offer group party booking through a dedicated party booking page. Groups of 4+ commonly receive a per-person discount of 10–20%. Bridal parties, prom groups, and bachelorette events are the most common. Each guest receives their own confirmation, prep instructions, and rinse reminder via SMS. The host pays at booking and guests can split the bill if the studio enables it.
What if I'm pregnant — can I still get a spray tan?
Most dermatologists consider topical DHA application low-risk during pregnancy because absorption through intact skin is minimal. However, the FDA advises that DHA should not be inhaled, ingested, or applied to mucous membranes — so most studios require pregnant clients to wear nose plugs and lip balm and to keep eyes/mouth closed during application. Bronzly's intake form flags pregnancy so the artist adjusts technique accordingly.
What if I have a skin condition like eczema or psoriasis?
Bronzly's intake form asks about contraindications including eczema, psoriasis, recent sunburn, hormonal acne, and recent waxing or laser. The artist sees these flags before your appointment and can adjust solution, technique, or recommend rescheduling. Active flares typically take spray tan unevenly and can worsen with the alcohol content in some solutions — your artist will advise based on your specific condition.
Can I get a spray tan if I just got waxed or had laser?
Wait at least 24 hours after waxing and 48 hours after laser hair removal before a spray tan. Both procedures open follicles and exfoliate, which causes dark dotting around hair follicles if you tan too soon. Bronzly's intake form asks about recent hair removal so the artist can confirm the wait time before applying solution.
Does spray tan protect me from the sun?
No. DHA-based spray tan provides essentially zero UV protection. The bronze color comes from a chemical reaction with the outer skin layer, not from melanin production. You still need broad-spectrum SPF 30+ outdoors. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends spray tan as a safer alternative to UV tanning beds, which are classified as a Group 1 carcinogen by the WHO.
